Biography

R. Mitchell Ross received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Austin Peay State University in 1972 and his Juris Doctor Degree from Memphis State University (University of Memphis) in 1975. Mr. Ross began his law practice in Clarksville, Tennessee in 1975 and has continuously maintained his practice in Clarksville since that time. 

During his almost 50-year legal career, Mr. Ross has established himself as a lawyer relied upon and regularly turned to for expert knowledge, skill and performance in complex commercial real estate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, land use and financing. His representative clients include financial institutions, developers and general contractors.

Mr. Ross served two terms on the Clarksville Board of Zoning Appeals (Chairman) as well as the Downtown Design Review Board (Chairman).

Mr. Ross is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee, as well as all State of Tennessee trial and appellate courts. Mr. Ross has served as President of the Montgomery County Bar Association and on the House of Delegates for the Tennessee Bar Association. Mr. Ross is licensed by the State of Tennessee, Department of Insurance on Commerce for title insurance and is a title agent for Old Republic National Title Insurance Company and First American Title Insurance Company.

Mr. Ross’ areas of practice are in real estate and business transactions, including contract matters, residential and commercial real estate transactions, and closings. He also handles corporate matters.
